Cable Stitches
- cn - cable needle
- c2b - Cable 2 Front: Slip 1 st onto cn, place to back of work, k1 st, k1 st from cn
- c2f - Cable 2 Front: Slip 1 st1 onto cn, place to front of work, k1 st, k1 st from cn
- c4b - Cable 4 Front: Slip 2 sts onto cable needle, place to back of work, k2 sts, k2 sts from cn
- c4f - Cable 4 Front: Slip 2 sts onto cn, place to front of work, k2 sts, k2 sts from cn
- c6b - Cable 6 Front: Slip 3 sts onto cn, place to back of work, k3 sts, k3 sts from cn

Increase Stitches
Non-leaning increases
- kfb - knit 1 into front and back of a stitch
- M1 (or M1K ) - make one stitch knitwise
- M1p - make one purlwise
- p2tog - purl 2 stitches together
- pfb - purl 1 into front and back of a stitch
- psso - pass slipped stitch over
- p2sso - pass 2 slipped stitches over
Right-leaning increases
- ksp - knit 1 stitch, slip this stitch from RN back onto LN, pass 2nd stitch on LN over 1st stitch and off LN, return stitch to RN - right-leaning decrease
- M1R - make one right - right-leaning knit increase
- M1rp - make one right purlwise - right-leaning purl increase
Left-leaning increases
- M1L - make one left - left-leaning knit increase
- M1lp - make one left purlwise - left-leaning purl increase
Decrease Stitches
Right-leaning Decreases
- k2tog knit 2 stitches together - single right-leaning decrease
Left-leaning Decreases
- SKP - slip 1 knitwise, knit 1, pass slip stitch over knit stitch - left-leaning decrease
- SK2P - slip 1 knitwise, knit 2 together, pass slip stitch over knit 2 together - double left-leaning decrease
- ssk - slip 2 stitches knitwise, knit these 2 stitches together through back loops - left-leaning decrease
- ssp - slip 2 stitches knitwise, return these 2 stitches to left needle and purl them together through back loops - left-leaning decrease
- sssk - slip 3 stitches knitwise, knit these 3 stitches together through back loops - double left-leaning decrease
- sssp - slip 3 stitches knitwise, return these 3 stitches to left needle and purl these 3 stitches together through back loops - double left-leaning decrease
Centred Double Decreases (CDD)
- S2KP2 - slip 2 stitches as if to knit 2 together, knit 1, pass both slipped stitches over knit stitch
- SSPP2 - slip 2 stitches knitwise, return these 2 stitches to left needle and then slip them as if to p2tog through back loops, purl 1, pass both slipped stitches over purl stitch
