About Manos del Uruguay

This yarn was created to provide jobs for women in their rural hometowns in Uruguay. Manos became a member of the World Fair Trade Organisation in 2009. They spin and dye their yarns in cooperatives located in small towns throughout Uruguay's countryside, supporting sustainable livelihoods and preserving traditional craft skills.
