About This Yarn
Baby Merino Aran has a simple construction of 2/3.5nm giving 175m (191 yds) per 100g hank. It's a beautifully soft blend of baby alpaca and 21 micron merino wool. Baby Alpaca is one of the most luxurious fibres in the world – incredibly warm, lightweight and strong. It has hypoallergenic properties and contains no lanolin, making it safe to wear for those with skin allergies. Alpaca is said to be three times warmer than sheep wool, with excellent insulation properties whilst remaining light and breathable. The baby alpaca is combined in equal measure with fine merino, giving the yarn more bounce and elasticity.
The merino is mulesing-free and comes from South America. The yarn is 100% animal fibre and perfect for dyeing.

I’ve begun knitting an Aran pullover with this wool and it is the most lovely wool! It knits up so easily and is just so soft. I’m so very pleased I opted for your wool over any other. It’s really the best!
Not had chance to knit the yarn yet but it is lovely and soft and I look forward to knitting with it.
Gorgeous yarn. I have been using this yarn to dye with, using my natural dyes. It dyes beautifully - maintaining it softness and is a dream to knit with. Have ordered 4 times now. Just love it.
This is really exceptional yarn. No knots in the 300g I’ve knitted with so far and super soft. Im knitting a cable cardigan and I’m anticipating it’s going to be very special with this yarn!
This is the best yarn I've knitted with & I have been knitting since the age of 10.

Alpaca material is stain-resistant, which means that it needs less washing and is less likely to get ruined by stains … and alpaca is stain-resistant without having chemicals and coatings added to it to make it so.
Sustainable Fashion Story
Alpaca yarn is naturally wrinkle-resistant, eliminating the need for ironing and reducing energy consumption. This helps lower carbon emissions, with ironing estimated to produce 190 kg of CO₂ per person annually.
Unlike sheep and goats, alpacas graze sustainably by trimming grass instead of uprooting it. This allows the grass to regrow naturally, preserving the soil and supporting healthy ecosystems.
