Alpaca bird nesting

The product arrived earlier than I’d expected and in very good packaging. It’s beautifully soft and the birds are loving it. As it’s a good buy, I ordered another today.

Alpaca bird nesting material

I ordered three bags, and they are packed full which is great and will be used next year as I think I ordered too much.
My only issue is that I ordered white as the birds seem to only go for the white and received mixed bags with hardly any white in so was disappointed . Update on this I was refunded for two of the bags, and was very kindly sent out a bag of white as the alpaca had just been sheared free of charge! Customer service is excellent and will order again in the future. Thank you very much!

Hi Samantha, hopefully you got our email saying we are refunding you for two bags. We have no white left now, though the alpacas are about to be sheared (tomorrow). I know the birds love the brown fleece, and we'll send you a bag of white once the alpacas have been sheared.

Alpaca Bird Nesting - Great!

What a great idea! The package arrived quickly full to the brim of beautiful soft alpaca wool. My birds quickly took it away to form nests. Its special to think the baby birds will be kept snuggly warm in a natural fibre. A great idea!

Nesting

Birds love it except for the black coloured fleece which they won’t take at all.

Hi Julie

Thanks for your review. I am sorry that the black fleece has not been a success. We didn't realise birds were so picky, so we are sending you a new bag with just the brown colours. Meantime, you can use the black around the garden....try putting it around vegetables to stop slugs and snails, or use it to insulate and keep plants warm and damp!

Happy birds (and hedgehogs)

Purchased alpaca bird nesting fleece which arrived promptly within a couple of days. I was surprised at how big the bag of fleece was and only initially needed a small amount to fill my feeder. I loved it so much I put some in my hedgehog box, although the jury is still out on whether they like it to! Wish I'd bought it earlier on in the year. Recommended

Roy, amazing. I love this idea. I am going to have to build a hedgehog box now to see it they like it. Thank you for sharing the idea, and for your lovely review.x

Frequently Asked Questions

Natural fibers are biodegradable and decompose naturally, unlike synthetic fibers, which take over 200 years to degrade. During this time, they contribute to landfill waste, release greenhouse gases, and leach toxic chemicals into the environment.

Alpaca material is stain-resistant, which means that it needs less washing and is less likely to get ruined by stains … and alpaca is stain-resistant without having chemicals and coatings added to it to make it so.

Sustainable Fashion Story

Alpaca yarn is naturally wrinkle-resistant, eliminating the need for ironing and reducing energy consumption. This helps lower carbon emissions, with ironing estimated to produce 190 kg of CO₂ per person annually.

Unlike sheep and goats, alpacas graze sustainably by trimming grass instead of uprooting it. This allows the grass to regrow naturally, preserving the soil and supporting healthy ecosystems.
