This is a PERFECT beginner's knitting project because: you will be able to hone a quality technique: Firstly, you'll cast on, and then get started with just one stitch, Knit, to create the Garter Stitch pattern on one side of the cushion. On the second side of the cushion you will learn the next stitch, Purl, to create the Stocking Stitch pattern. Then we mix up the two stitches to create the Moss Stitch pattern, and include buttonholes. Finally, you'll cast off, and sew up with mattress stitch.

- 200g Gorgeous Aran made from 50% baby alpaca /50% baby merino
- 4 x 5cm buttons
- Optional 5.5mm needles
- Pattern for cushion
The mix of baby alpaca and merino means it both super soft and easy to knit with. The colour of this yarn is parchment (a lovely off-white/ cream colour).
Finished Size: 41cm x 41cm and includes, optionally a cushion pad made with European Duck Feather.

This is a lovely soft yarn that knits/crochets beautifully, made from 50% baby alpaca / 50% baby merino. 'Baby' alpaca does not mean that we stole the fleece from baby alpacas (crias); it's simply the term used to describe the finest micron fibre available. We mix it with the softest merino wool to give it good structure, stretch and the softest yarn you will fine.

Hand washing: Use lukewarm water and a specialist wool detergent. Hair conditioner in the final rinse will add extra softness. When washing and rinsing squeeze the garment rather than rubbing. Gently squeeze out excess water before rolling in a towel. Lay flat to dry.
Washing machines: Modern machines with delicate programme at 20C using a wool delicate detergent. Can be spun at 400 RPM.

I loved the way that it came packed in the box with everything that you need to complete the cushion cover. The instructions are easy to understand, I might need some help with the buttonholes. I've probably done about 10cm today, it's been quite therapeutic, the wool is so soft, lovely to handle.
A little lockdown project, a simple pattern with everything included and such lovely wool
