Baby Merino Aran has a simple construction of 2/3.5nm giving 175m (191 yds) per 100g hank. Its a beautifully soft blend of baby alpaca and 21 micron merino wool. Baby Alpaca is one of the most luxurious fabrics in the world. It is incredibly warm, light weight and strong. It has hypoallergenic properties, it contains no lanolin, which makes the fibre safe to wear if you have skin allergies. Alpaca is said to be three times warmer than sheep wool as the fibres have excellent insulation properties whilst remaining light and breathable. The baby alpaca is combined in equal measure with fine merino giving the yarn more bounce and elasticity. The merino is mulesing free and comes from South America. The yarn is 100% animal fibre and perfect for dyeing.

Gorgeous yarn. I have been using this yarn to dye with, using my natural dyes. It dyes beautifully - maintaining it softness and is a dream to knit with. Have ordered 4 times now. Just love it.
This is really exceptional yarn. No knots in the 300g I’ve knitted with so far and super soft. Im knitting a cable cardigan and I’m anticipating it’s going to be very special with this yarn!
This is the best yarn I've knitted with & I have been knitting since the age of 10.
I was looking for a special, yet inexpensive Christmas present for my niece & great niece & as a prolific knitter this yarn fitted the bill. The best alpaca yarn I have ever knitted with & not one knot in the entire 100gm!
Just wanted to drop you a line to say thank you for the most gorgeous wool ever - Aran Alpaca Merino

Sustainable Fashion Story
Alpaca yarn is naturally wrinkle-resistant, eliminating the need for ironing and reducing energy consumption. This helps lower carbon emissions, with ironing estimated to produce 190 kg of CO₂ per person annually.
Unlike sheep and goats, alpacas graze sustainably by trimming grass instead of uprooting it. This allows the grass to regrow naturally, preserving the soil and supporting healthy ecosystems.
