    Skill Level – Beginner

    You can knit it in the round or as a flat panel. This is a straightforward hat, suitable for beginners: no ribbing, and only a simple decrease at the end, by which time you'll have mastered the two main knitting stitches: knit and purl.

    To fit head (circumference): Small 48cm (19") – Medium 53cm (21") – Large 58cm (23")
    Finished Length: 32cm (12.5") from cast on (or length to suit your preference)

    Tension / Gauge: 21 sts × 27 rows = 10cm (4") over stocking stitch on 4.5mm needles (UK 7 / US 7) using Gorgeous Alpacas DK Superfine yarn.

    Despite its simplicity, this is a really versatile hat: you can roll it up for a tight beanie-style fit to the crown, or roll it out for a long 2020s look! If you want it even longer, there is plenty of yarn left to keep going. It's very lightweight and very flexible, so perfect for travelling.

    You will Need

    We recommend matching this with our DK lightweight yarn in any colour you love and 4.5mm needles. The gauge recommended is 21 sts and 27 rows over a 10cm square. The amount you will need is 100g from the hat, and 100g for the cowl.

    You will also need 4.5mm circular needles, a stich marker, and a tapestry needle.
